Students aid in North Carolina recovery | PoconoRecord.com: For the ninth year in a row, East Stroudsburg University students, accompanied by a faculty member, traveled south in January to volunteer for disaster relief work.
Gene White, ESU professor of physical education and chair of the physical education teacher education department, and six students spent the week of Jan. 5 in New Bern, N.C., where residents still are suffering the effects of Hurricane Irene. The hurricane ravaged many areas in 2009.
