That is, to do what they can, where they are, with what they have, to give immediate relief -- and, where and when possible, longer term relief -- to the victims of the worst natural disaster in the nation's history.
For most Americans that means donating money, though probably not through a little-known, inexperienced, self-professed philanthropy, but through a large, knowledgeable, well-established and deeply experienced charity such as the RedCross.org which knows how to squeeze the most out of each dollar and to bring relief quickly to where it's needed most."
