Thaxton 11-year-old launches disaster relief effort - wdbj7.com: His drive has led him to do something most kids would never dream of: start his own relief organization.

"I want to get people from New York and New Jersey who suffered through Hurricane Sandy, or in Oklahoma where the recent tornadoes hit, to have money and hope to rebuild," Balderston said.

He plans to spend the rest of his summer collecting donations, water, anything he can, through a group he's starting called "Oakridge Relief." It's named after the street he lives on.
