Japanese professor studying Katrina response - Gulfport - SunHerald.com: When he visited the Sun Herald on Thursday, Murayama wanted to hear about post-Katrina insurance problems, housing programs, business and charity responses and government assistance offered.
He said the Japanese had no insurance for the tsunami comparable with America’s National Flood Insurance Program, and many residents were without earthquake insurance because they thought their ground was solid.
