While Turkey is hosting approximately 1.9 million refugees from Syria, Jordan has received more than 600,000, and Lebanon over one million, America has taken only just over 1,500 people during four years of the Syrian civil war.

The president first promised this month to increase the number who will be resettled to 10,000 in the fiscal year beginning in October. This was paltry."

Big Aid Groups 'Misleading' Donors on Nepal Work, Says Watchdog - The Chronicle of Philanthropy: "Major global aid charities surveyed by the Thomson Reuters Foundation about their Nepal earthquake response have spent up to one-sixth of funds raised in disaster appeals on overhead.

Nonprofit watchdog the Disaster Accountability Project criticized the estimates, noting that many of the agencies are doing little direct work on the ground in hard-hit areas, instead "regranting" money to local groups at the behest of Nepal's government."
