How the U.S. Can Welcome Refugees - The New York Times

How the U.S. Can Welcome Refugees - The New York Times: "In the United States, the Obama administration’s response has been cautious. While Turkey is hosting approximately 1.9 million refugees from Syria, Jordan has received more than 600,000, and Lebanon over one million, America has taken only just over 1,500 people during four years of the Syrian civil war.

The president first promised this month to increase the number who will be resettled to 10,000 in the fiscal year beginning in October. This was paltry."
