Calgary flood damage to cost city $265M - Calgary - CBC News: Calgary officials say it will cost at least $265.5 million to repair damage from the flooding that devastated parts of the city last month.

The preliminary estimates were discussed by aldermen on the finance committee, which met Tuesday in a temporary space in the city’s northeast because city hall in downtown Calgary is not yet fully open.

Thousands of volunteers descend on Calgary's Mission district to help with flood cleanup | Calgary | News | Calgary Sun: housands of Calgarians spent the first day of their Canada Day long weekend cleaning flood-ravaged communities around the city Saturday, in the biggest volunteer effort since the Bow and Elbow Rivers spilled their banks June 20.

More than 2,000 turned out in Mission — where they’ve branded the effort Mission: Possible — clearing debris, stripping basements and beginning the monumental task of rebuilding.

ISERV observes flooding in Calgary : Image of the Day: ISERV captured 24 images of the Alberta flooding from June 22–24. The research team sent those images to Ken Korporal, agri-geomatics manager for Environment Canada, who distributed them to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing Emergency Geomatics, and other government agencies. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police noted that they have found the photos useful for managing the flood aftermath.
