Monday, 19 May 2008 - Mercy Relief yesterday personally delivered and distributed its first batch of relief supplies to the affected areas in Sichuan namely at Mianzhu and Shifang counties and Jiulong Township. Food supplies (comprising mineral water, milk, biscuits, cakes, bread, sausages and instant noodles) totaling S$20,000 so far, was distributed to 10,000 persons in the affected regions. The supplies were procured locally which allow for savings on freight costs, hence able to provide greater quantity"
