Aid Groups Join in Text-to-Give Campaign for Relief to East Africa: We've been hearing about the famine and humanitarian crisis in the Horn of Africa for months. With more than 13 million people now needing emergency aid just to survive, it has been hard to understand why the American public has been so slow to support the many international aid organizations working on the crisis.
It took a survey by the Ad Council in September to reveal that 52% of the general public say they haven't heard or read anything about the terrible drought, resulting famine, and human tragedy
