Editor’s Note: Times Chief Photographer Spencer Tulis is spending this week with 26 Finger Lakes residents who are helping hurricane victims in southern Mississippi as part of a relief effort organized by the Presbytery of Geneva.

GAUTIER, Miss. — Even though Mississippi is one of the poorer states in the nation, the luxurious homes and waterfront property along its Gulf coastline fetch a premium price.
