I know Louisiana suffered, but so did Mississippi. Mississippi took a direct hit from Katrina. We lost everything on the Gulf Coast. Three years later there are still miles and miles of bare land, homes, schools, public buildings and businesses have not been rebuilt. We are still suffering in Mississippi too. There is a terrible housing shortage here as well. No one seems to remember that Katrine actually hit the Mississippi Gulf Coast directly, LA was also hit, but not a direct hit. This storm hurt people in Alabama as well. It seems everyone keys on New Orleans, but there are a lot of other communities struggling in the post Katrine era as well.
