The Nonprofit Quarterly | The Nonprofit Quarterly | Nonprofit Newswire | Haitian Leaders Angry About Being Left Out Of Aid Decisions: "On one hand, the outpouring aid for victims of the January 12 Haitian earthquake has been steady and generous. American donations alone have topped $1 billion. On the other hand, a number of the country's leaders are unhappy with how the aid is being delivered and angry that they have little or no say how it is being used. Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive told the Associated Press, “The NGOs don't tell us ... where the money's coming from or how they're spending it. Too many people are raising money without any controls, and don't explain what they're doing with it.”"
