SINGAPORE : The earthquake disaster in Japan has sparked a ground-swell of aid efforts in Singapore, from humanitarian organisations to companies and individuals.

These include non-governmental organisations Mercy Relief and the Singapore Red Cross - both of which have received their fundraising permits to accept donations from the public."
