DEC Philippines appeal raises �13m in a day: The Disasters Emergency Committee has raised �13m for its Philippines Typhoon appeal less than 24 hours after its first advertisements hit television screens.
The funds have poured in since the fundraising organisation, which comprises 14 member agencies, announced its appeal yesterday morning. The DEC said the rate of donations is “unprecedented” in its appeal history.
